Cloud of Things

Cloud of Things is a project for delivering product information to consumers through nfc-enabled Android smartphones. Tieto is providing its Sustainability Intelligence system to be integrated with the new Software Factory developed prototype.

In this project, Tieto Corporation will bring its Sustainability Intelligence system to the factory. This system enables tracking of raw materials and products through electronic tags (Near Field Communication, NFC), allowing things like optimisation of logistics, calculating the carbon footprint of individual products in stores. The project will produce an Android-based application for consumers. With this application, a consumer could get information about products on store shelves by using their phone or other hand-held device. Or perhaps you have a better idea? Join the project!
