Software Factory operates in cycles synchronized to the periods of the academic year at the CS department of the Helsinki University. Project selection is made several weeks before the periods start to allow time for neccesary preparation work.

Students
The Software Factory is a Masters level course at the CS department. The factories are synchronized with the course periods, but usually registration is opened at least a week before the period is started. Course admission is based on an on-line interview and some small knowledge evaluation tasks which are to be performed before the factory course begins. You will get information about these after registering for the course. Registration is done through the Ilmo system.
Research
Are you interested in using the Software Factory as a research platform? The Factory is set up to allow research into subject from multiple disciplines, and research can be done both during development and on the results of the project.
